Pastor Wayne C. Hosten enjoys journeying with Jesus and watching Him transform himself and others! Born in Washington D.C. and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland, Pastor Hosten counts it a true blessing to have had godly parents, Sydney (deceased) and Cheryl Hosten, who he credits along with his brother, Ronald, for recognizing the calling God has on his life.

Pastor Hosten earned an undergraduate degree in Government & Politics with a minor in History & Philosophy from the University of Maryland at College Park, intending to become a lawyer.  However, God had other plans. Pastor Hosten finally submitted to the Lord’s leading and would go on to receive a Master of Divinity from the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA)Theological Seminary at Andrews University. He later obtained a Master of Science in Administration, concentrating on Nonprofit Organizational Management in 2018.  Currently, he is a doctoral candidate in the Public Engagement and Ministry Cohort at the Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C.

After receiving a call from the Lake Region Conference in November 2010, Pastor Hosten served as the senior pastor of several churches in Illinois and Indiana.  On April 28, 2019, the Allegheny East Conference Executive Committee extended a call to Pastor Hosten to pastor the Glenridge Seventh-day Adventist Church in District Heights, Maryland, where he currently ministers.  On April 23, 2023, the Allegheny East Conference Corporation Executive Committee extended a call to Pastor Hosten to pastor the Campostella Heights Seventh-day Adventist Church in Norfolk, Virginia.

An ordained minister, Pastor Hosten’s ministerial focus is preparing, empowering, and equipping people to reach their full potential in Jesus Christ. This has allowed him to conduct or speak at various public and personal evangelistic efforts, youth and men’s ministry federations, conferences, weeks of prayer, and revivals across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean. Pastor Hosten relies upon God’s promise, “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide, and I will fill it” Psalms 81:10.

His partner in ministry is none other than his wife of 19 years, the former Ceceile DeRoux. Hailing from the island of Jamaica, Sister Hosten holds an undergraduate degree in Nursing from Northern Caribbean University. Led by the Holy Spirit, she has a passion for serving in various ministries.  The couple has been favored with two incredible sons, Noah, 15 years old, and Isaiah, who is 12 years old. They live by the motto – “When God is in control, anticipate blessings and expect success!”

I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.—Psalms 81:10.
